  • What is Laser Engraving?

Laser engraving is a high precision process that uses a concentrated beam of light to permanently mark, cut, or etch the surface of a material. The focused energy removes or alters the surface layer at a microscopic level, producing clean, permanent results that do not fade or wear off.

At PrimeCore Precision, we utilize both CO₂ and fiber laser systems, each designed for specific materials and outcomes. CO₂ lasers are ideal for engraving and cutting wood, acrylic, leather, glass, and coated materials, while fiber lasers specialize in metals and performance polymers. This range allows us to handle everything from industrial component marking to intricate custom work with exceptional accuracy and consistency.

Every laser system is digitally controlled to maintain precise alignment and repeatability on every pass. Whether you need branding, serial numbers, product labeling, or NFA and FFL markings (coming soon), our process delivers professional results built to last.

  • How does it work?

A computer-controlled laser focuses intense light energy on a specific point of the material, rapidly heating and vaporizing the surface. This controlled burn creates permanent marks with exceptional precision, even on small or complex shapes. By adjusting the laser’s power, frequency, and speed, the depth, color, and finish of the engraving can be tailored to the desired outcome.

Because there is no physical contact, the process eliminates tool wear and deformation while maintaining tight tolerances. It’s ideal for applications that demand clarity, repeatability, and clean edges without distortion or residue.

Metals including stainless steel, carbon steel, tool steel, aluminum, brass, copper and titanium.

Plastics and polymers including ABS, nylon, Delrin, polycarbonate, acrylic and composite materials.

Coated surfaces including anodized aluminum, Cerakote, powder coat and painted finishes.

Natural materials including wood, leather, slate, granite, marble, glass and ceramic surfaces.

  • Is it right for my application?

Laser engraving is the right solution when accuracy, durability, and detail matter. It works exceptionally well on stainless steel, aluminum, titanium, brass, polymer, wood, and coated surfaces. This makes it suitable for a wide range of uses including serial numbers, logos, firearm frames and slides, identification plates, control panels, industrial parts, and high-end consumer goods.

If your project requires clear, permanent markings where stickers, paint, or ink would fail, laser engraving provides a professional, permanent solution that meets both functional and aesthetic standards.
