Custom Jigs & Fixtures
PrimeCore Precision designs and produces custom jigs, fixtures, alignment tools, and production aids for manufacturers, machine shops, and specialty industrial applications. Our focus is on practical tooling that improves repeatability, positioning, handling, and process consistency for short run and repeat production work.
Custom Jigs & Fixtures for Industrial Applications
Not every job requires expensive permanent tooling.
For many small batch, rework, marking, cleaning, inspection, and assembly applications, a simple custom fixture can significantly improve speed and repeatability.
PrimeCore Precision can develop jigs and fixtures around actual parts, drawings, CAD files, or sample components to support a specific process or production need.
Applications may include:
• Laser marking fixtures
• Part holding fixtures
• Alignment jigs
• Positioning templates
• Inspection aids
• Assembly fixtures
• Cleaning and processing fixtures
• Drill and layout guides
• Repeat production tooling
• Specialty workholding
Laser Marking Fixtures
Repeatable laser engraving and marking often depends on consistent part placement.
Custom fixtures can be designed to hold parts in a fixed position so serial numbers, logos, date codes, QR codes, Data Matrix codes, and other markings remain consistent from part to part.
For larger batches, fixtures can also be designed to hold multiple components at once to reduce handling time and improve production efficiency.
Depending on the application, fixtures may incorporate locating features, pockets, stops, clamps, indexing points, or other positioning methods.
3D Printed Production Tooling
In house 3D printing allows PrimeCore Precision to produce functional fixtures and tooling quickly without waiting for conventional machining.
We primarily work with engineering materials such as PA6 carbon fiber reinforced nylon for applications requiring improved strength, heat resistance, and dimensional stability.
3D printed tooling can be especially useful for:
• Short production runs
• Prototype fixtures
• Complex part geometry
• Lightweight workholding
• Laser engraving setups
• Inspection and alignment tools
• Temporary production tooling
• Low volume repeat jobs
A fixture can be designed, printed, tested with the actual component, and revised before production use.
Part Holding & Alignment
Consistent positioning can reduce errors and eliminate unnecessary setup time.
Custom locating features can be developed around the shape and geometry of the component so operators can place parts quickly and consistently.
Fixtures may be designed for individual components or multi part loading depending on quantity, available work area, and process requirements.
This can be useful for laser marking, cleaning, inspection, assembly, measurement, and other repetitive industrial processes.
Production Rework Fixtures
Rework projects often require consistent placement just as much as new production.
When existing markings need to be cancelled, date codes changed, contaminated areas cleaned, or specific features processed repeatedly, a dedicated fixture can make the rework process faster and more controlled.
PrimeCore Precision can combine fixture development with laser marking, part cleaning, and production rework to create a complete process around the job.
Prototype & Process Development
Some projects require testing before the final tooling approach is known.
We can develop prototype fixtures to evaluate fit, loading, positioning, clearance, and process repeatability before committing to the final design.
For unusual components, sample parts can be used to develop and validate the fixture directly around the application.
Small Batch & Repeat Production
Custom fixtures are especially valuable when a project will be repeated.
Once a fixture and process have been established, future batches can often be set up more quickly and processed with improved consistency.
PrimeCore Precision supports one off tooling needs as well as fixtures intended for ongoing production use.
Request a Jig or Fixture Quote
Send us a drawing, CAD file, photos, sample part, quantity, and a description of the process the fixture needs to support.
PrimeCore Precision can evaluate the application and determine a practical approach for holding, locating, aligning, or processing the component.
Projects can range from simple positioning templates to multi part production fixtures developed specifically for laser marking, cleaning, inspection, assembly, or specialty rework.
