Thermal Burn-Off Cleaning Services
Low temp pyrolytic cleaning for industrial parts, fixtures, and tooling. This controlled thermal cleaning process removes paint, powder coating, carbon buildup, oils, and process residues while preserving base material integrity. Designed for precision applications, low temp pyrolytic cleaning provides an efficient and environmentally responsible solution for restoring metal components without aggressive mechanical abrasion or chemical stripping. Ideal for manufacturers seeking consistent results, reduced downtime, and compliance focused industrial cleaning.

What is Burn-Off cleaning?
Burn-off cleaning uses controlled heat to remove paint, powder coating, resin, oil, carbon, and other organic materials from metal parts and fixtures. The process breaks contaminants down into a fine ash that can be easily rinsed or brushed away, restoring components to a clean, reusable state.
At PrimeCore Precision, our low-emission system operates below the temperature threshold regulated by the EPA and Clean Air Act. This ensures full environmental compliance while maintaining the integrity of metal substrates and surface treatments such as black oxide, phosphate, or other conversion coatings. These finishes remain unaffected at the temperatures we use, allowing parts to retain their protective layer or be refinished as needed.

How does it work?
Parts are placed in a sealed thermal chamber where heat is gradually increased to a controlled range that breaks down coatings and carbon deposits without altering the base metal or existing protective finishes. Our system runs below the maximum EPA Clean Air Act temperature limits, keeping the process safe, compliant, and environmentally sound.
During operation, smoke and particulates are processed through an advanced afterburner and filtration setup that eliminates odor and emissions before clean air is released. This closed-loop system ensures that parts are cleaned efficiently with no environmental discharge.
Once the cycle is complete, parts are cooled and any remaining ash is removed with light blasting or rinsing. Cleaned surfaces can then be recoated or treated with anti-corrosive coatings or protectants to extend service life and reduce future buildup.

Is it right for my application?
Thermal burn-off cleaning is ideal for industrial tooling, jigs, paint hooks, fixtures, and reusable metal components that accumulate coating buildup or carbon contamination. It works exceptionally well for steel, cast iron, and other heat-tolerant materials.
Because the process preserves black oxide, phosphate, and other stable finishes, it is suitable for restoring functional components that must maintain dimensional accuracy and protective coatings. For parts that require further protection, anti-corrosive coatings can be reapplied immediately after cleaning to ensure lasting performance.
